The Guardian's weekend article about pending changes at the LA Times -- namely, the potential winnowing down of the Book Review section and the moving of it to, wait for it, the SATURDAY OPINION SECTION (yes, that's right. all CAPS. i'm shouting.) -- rankled me. I had heard rumors before, I had ignored them. I didn't want to get upset about all the changes as I thought, hell, once the paper is sold and sold and sold, surely someone will see the insanity of such a move and will say no.
It's not a done deal yet and the LAT "won't return calls", but I've posted my rant about it at LAist nonetheless.
