More like, pee-your-pants-Friday. A few things that have made me laugh very hard today -- so hard I've almost choked on a blue peanut M&M (I only eat the blue ones, did I tell you?), had a laughter-induced asthma attack, and confused the UPS man with my laughter-tears (he thought I was crying about the lateness of the package he was delivering!):
- Someeecards. No words (other than the words that are on the cards) could do these justice. Just go. Now. (Via the lovely Lauren Cerand.)
- On a possibly-lost-his-way Murakami, Matthew Tiffany says: "Bad/tired & busted Murakami is better than tired & busted Auster" I laughed for a full minute, re-grouped and laughed some more. Maybe it's not funny and there's something wrong with me. It's funny right? True, but also funny. And isn't funny the funniest when it's also full of truth?
- When any Typepad blog that is tricked out with widgets loads in my browser, it says "Waiting for Widgets" at the bottom. Waiting. For. Widgets. Funny, no?
- I would very much like to take the piss out of (or play right into their thoughts on litblogs) all the "proper" book reviewers and critics by posting nothing but pictures of my dogs reading books. Like -- every day, six posts a day. Dogs. Books. Dogs + books. Not as funny once it's typed out, eh? But still kind of funny...
Off to finish up Remainder (more on this later) and a short story that I've seriously been avoiding since I started it...
