Still jet-lagged and a bit in shock upon my return (nothing smacks of "welcome home" more than returning stateside to learn you've lost your paid gig whilst you were touring the Irish countryside), I'd be entirely remiss if I didn't point out that Irish writer Anne Enright has won the Booker Prize for her novel The Gathering.
Which everyone (everyone, I tell you) was reading throughout Ireland during our two-week tour.
