Deadlines loom, appointments beckon, and many new opportunities are revealing themselves as each day passes. Good, good and excellent. Well, all good except for the longish posts I had planned for today that won't make it up and out and into your eyes (and hearts and minds and wherever else).
In lieu of Diaz wrap-ups, my final thoughts on Hotel Theory and my re-taking up of Didion (again and again and again) which I will eventually get to this week, I offer up one paltry link: the week in bookish events at LAist.
There's quite a lot going on this week. On my radar? Maira Kalman's reading of The Principles of Uncertainty at the Central Library on Tuesday @ 7pm, Steve Erickson's reading of Zeroville at Skylight Books on Friday @ 7:30pm and Jim Ruland's Vermin on the Mount with Duncan Murrell, Gustavo Arellano, Kevin Moffett and Mary Otis at Mountain Bar on Sunday @ 8pm.
If you seek events that require less of you, Lance Bass and Jenna Bush also have signings...er, um, readings, this week.
