Ha Jin will be discussing his new novel, A Free Life, with author Seth Faison tonight @ the Central Library, 7pm. Setting aside the fact that I'm eager to see Ha Jin read and discuss his work, I'm extra-thrilled that the Aloud series (bravo to you for your scheduling this year, btw) has paired Jin with Faison. Both men have lived in and covered China for many years, including the Tiananmen massacre, which is central to both of these men's lives, as well as Jin's A Free Life protagonist, Nan Wu. All of this should make for an excellent evening of discussion.
